Sept. 17 - 21.... ANOTHER GREAT WORKSHOP!
We enjoyed another great workshop with Yves Parent, Bill Davis, Don Demers, Tom Deininger, and Kris Donovan with spectacular weather, a very talented group of painters, fabulous locations, incredible lunches, and lots of new ideas for our painting! 2007 MAKING ART ~ PLEIN AIR

Dates are set for this year's seminar! September 17 - 21, 2007 at the Stone House Club at Sakonnet Point. We'll have Don Demers, Yves Parent, Tom Deininger, Kris Donovan and Bill Davis for five exciting days of plein air painting, personal instruction, constructive critiques, and wonderful networking. This is a very special time of year at Sakonnet Point and a very special workshop for the advanced painter.
Our workshop will focus on the importance of learning to see.... truly retracing our tracks as painters and redefining abstract shapes, composition, design, values, edges, and our visual awareness. We will, with the help of the luscious setting at Sakonnet Point in Southeastern RI, be able to regain our spontanaity and learn to create a more successful painting.
The seminar is limited to 15 participants to ensure proper attention to and full enjoyment by our participants. The workshop is Monday through Friday. We'll meet in the Stone House barn at 8:30 each day for coffee and pastry and head out to our coastal location promptly at 9. The instructor will begin each session, morning and afternoon, with a demonstration. There will be ample time for one on one instruction as we paint the amazing Sakonnet area. The instructors will be working mainly in oils, but you may use any medium. We will break each day at noon for a delightful, sit-down, gourment meal at the Stone House Club. On Friday the workshop will be based at the Donovan Gallery and lunch will be provided by the Provender. Tuition is $650. for 5 days and includes coffee and pastry for morning break and a gourmet lunch. A non-refundable deposit of $100. must accompany the registration. You may register by calling the gallery with a credit card or by simply mailing a check for $100. deposit with a note.... please give us your complete address, phone numers, and email. 2006 Workshop at Sakonnet Point.....

2006 PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP ! September 25th through the 28nd with four of New England's finest Plein Air instructors..... Don Demers, Yves Parent, Bill Davis, and Tom Deininger.
Our setting, once again, was the delightful Stone House Club at Sakonnet Point in Little Compton, RI where we enjoyed a sit-down, gourmet meal each day at noon and shared our ideas with fellow participants. The seminar group of 14 students enjoyed individual guidance by our talented instructors. Each day ended with critique.... another great way to share ideas! Our painting schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 5. On Friday, Kris Donovan offered an optional "Business of Art" at the Donovan Gallery from 9:30 to noon. After a wonderful spring seminar in May with Ned Mueller, a signature member of the Plein Air Painters of America, and Tom Deininger, we enjoyed a fabulous fall seminar, MAKING ART~PLEIN AIR, with Don Demers, Joe McGurl, Yves Parent, Tom Deininger, and Bill Davis, all fabulous "teachers" and plein air painters. The weather was just great and the group of artists and teachers was just the best! This is such an exciting, one of a kind workshop for the professional artist. We're getting ready for 2006 with a May workshop and plan to have Don Demers, Yves Parent, Bill Davis, and Tom Deininger once again in September.
